My name is Melissa Hart and I’m a grateful recovering alcoholic and drug addict. I have been sober since May 18, 2018. Without the support of 12 step recovery programs, I would have not been able to get sober on my own, so essentially I owe my life to the 12 step community because it saved me from losing mine which is now very beautiful today, all thanks to God, the 12 steps and the recovery community.
My life looks a lot different today than it did 3 and a half years ago. When I got sober I decided to go back to school to finish my nursing degree, which I graduated from last year. I work in the community and take care of people in their homes. I also have a beautiful Arbonne business where I get to help people become healthier, happier versions of themselves and that has brought me so much joy. I love health & wellness, so I love that I get to experience it from all ends of the spectrum within my line of work. I have also met my fiancé, Jake Mathias in recovery and he will be taking a spot in the window as well. I feel so blessed to be able to build a beautiful, sober life with him everyday. In my spare time I love doing CrossFit, going for dog walks, engaging in personal development and recovery work. I am so grateful to have been given a second shot at life through recovery and I don’t it end to waste a second of it, so my life is very full with all of the things that I love. My family & friends are so important to me, and most of them I have met in recovery.
Needless to say, being a participant in this window is extremely meaningful to me. My life would not look the way it does today without my recovery, and if I can help the 705 stay open another day to help a recovering alcoholic/ addict transform their life as well, I’m all in baby!
You can find me on Instagram @melcheyennehart and on Facebook as “Melissa Hart”
I am so excited, honoured & proud to have been nominated in as a window participant, so let’s have some fun!!
